IRNov 18, 2021

Yaskawa Electric Corporation (Head Office: Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture; President: Hiroshi Ogasawara) announces that it has received the Best IR Award from the Japan Investor Relations Association (JIRA). This is the first time that the company has received an award from JIRA.

The purpose of the IR Award* is to select and commend companies that have demonstrated a deep understanding of the purpose of IR, have made positive efforts, and have achieved outstanding results, such as winning the support of market participants.

This year marks the 26th year of the IR Awards. In 2021, 293 companies applied for an award, and a total of 14 companies were selected and received awards: the IR Grand Prix were given to two companies, the Best IR Awards to six, the IR Special Awards to three, and the Best IR Awards for Encouragement to three.

* IR Award Committee Chairman: Tetsuo Kitagawa, Emeritus Professor of Aoyama Gakuin University and Specially Appointed Professor of Tokyo Metropolitan University

JIRA’s statement on the reasons for YASKAWA’s selection is as follows:

Top management and CFO are active in IR and have a strong ability to disseminate information. Also, members of the IR department are familiar with the business strategy and can have a dialogue to help understand the company. They also try to provide information of high interest for investors in an accurate and easy-to-understand manner. Even under COVID-19 pandemic, the quality of the company’s IR activities has not been degraded. Rather, the level of its IR has been improved by the activities, such as explaining in detail the business in China that investors are interested in. Moreover, they are focusing on activities using online tools, for example virtual factory tours.

Yaskawa believes that it is important to promote constructive dialogue with shareholders and investors in order to achieve sustainable growth and increase corporate value over the medium to long term. We will continue to expand opportunities for dialogue with institutional investors, analysts, and other stakeholders and information disclosure. Also, by disclosing important information such as financial results in an easy-to-understand, accurate, timely and appropriate manner, we will strive to deepen our stakeholders’ understanding of Yaskawa.
