Yaskawa Electric Corporation (Head Office: Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture; President: Hiroshi Ogasawara) has been constructing the “Yaskawa Technology Center (YTC)”, an innovation base that integrates basic technology development, production technology development, product development, product and facility design, quality control, and mass production prototyping, with the aim of building a development system that can quickly respond to customer demands. We would like to announce that after the completion of the building in March 2021, we have prepared the environment for development and today started full operation.

In recent years, in the factory automation market that surrounds us, we have seen rapid progress on a global scale in initiatives that utilize ICT technology in addition to upgrading and automating production equipment and machinery, against the backgrounds of labor shortages and diversifying manufacturing changes such as variable quantity production. Under these environments, our company is proposing total solutions by automation and digital data management in the cell area of manufacturing sites through solution concept “i3-Mechatronics” announced in 2017.

In order to enhance our solution capabilities, we will integrate the technology development functions that have been conducted in each business division for each product into a central location and dramatically improve our technological capabilities and development speed based on data utilization by IT infrastructure. In particular, we will establish an environment for co-creation with partner companies, universities, and venture companies that have technical relationships with our three core technologies of motion control, robot technology, and power conversion, and develop new technologies that are competitive and highly marketable.

At YTC as our hub location, we will work to create an innovative and efficient development environment and promote the development of the world’s first and best products.
