New ProductSep 29, 2026
YASKAWA Electric Corporation (Head Office: Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan; Representative Director, Chairman of the Board and President: Hiroshi Ogasawara) launched the MPX1000 series of machine controllers for optimized equipment control on January 25, 2024. These controllers are part of the newly developed “iCube Control” control solution, which is designed to realize the i³-Mechatronics solution concept that adds digital data management to automation solutions. On September 29, 2026, Yaskawa will expand the MPX1010 lineup with the CPU-14U, which delivers the fastest processing performance in the series and can control up to 256 axes, and will also launch the CM-EC02/CM-EC02M communications unit/module, which enables connection to peripheral devices via EtherCAT communications.

Yaskawa developed the MPX1000 series as the successor to its MP3000 series (MP3200/MP3300) machine controllers. The new series enables higher machine and equipment speeds and improved productivity, and it has been adopted by many customers. As manufacturing site automation has advanced in recent years, machines and equipment are incorporating multiple processes, including peripheral transport, and are becoming increasingly multi-functional and capable of handling more processes. To meet these needs, Yaskawa has developed the CPU-14U CPU unit, which offers significantly improved application processing performance and can perform synchronized control of up to 256 servomotor axes using only the CPU unit.
In addition, Yaskawa has developed the CM-EC02/CM-EC02M EtherCAT SubDevice communication unit module for EtherCAT, a field network that has become increasingly standard in semiconductor manufacturing and other industries in recent years. This provides greater flexibility in system configuration. For example, the sections that require high-speed, high-precision motion control can be built with the MPX1000 series and connected to a host controller via EtherCAT.
①CPU Unit CPU-14U
・Improved application processing performance
Application processing performance has been improved by a high-speed multi-core processor.
(1.5 times that of the MPX1000 series CPU-12U and 12 times that of the MP3300 CPU-301)
・Higher maximum number of controlled axes
The CPU-14U has four MECHATROLINK-4 circuits and can connect up to 256 servo drives and I/O devices. In addition, installing the SVF-12 motion unit enables synchronized control of up to 640 servomotor axes. (When using two PSA-01 or PSD-01 power supply units)
②Machine Controller MPX1000 Series
・User application compatibility with MP2000/MP3000 Series
The MPX1000 series works with user applications from the previous MP2000/MP3000 series. Migration from the MP2000/MP3000 series is easy because MECHATROLINK communications can be switched between MECHATROLINK-4 and MECHATROLINK-III.
