Yaskawa Supports the Recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD)

Yaskawa Electric Corporation (head office: Kitakyushu, Fukuoka; Representative Director and President: Hiroshi Ogasawara) is pleased to announce its support for the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure *¹ proposal.


YASKAWA group’s environmental vision, “YASKAWA ECO VISION *²” states that we will make further contributions to society by reducing the environmental impact of our production activities (green process), improving the environmental performance of the products through our technological capabilities, and reducing the environmental impact of our products (green products).


As climate change poses a global challenge, our company has contributed to reducing CO₂ emissions through products such as AC drives that boast the world’s highest performance and utilize its core power conversion technology. With the endorsement of TCFD, we aim to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society and increase corporate value by enhancing the disclosure of climate change-related information more than ever before and by continuing even more environmentally friendly business activities.


*1. The task force was set up by the Financial Stability Board (FSB: Financial Stability Board) in December 2015, an international organization for stabilizing the financial system. In June 2017, it published a proposal for “Supporting companies that disclose information on climate-related risks and opportunities” and “Stabilize financial markets through a smooth transition to a low-carbon society”.
